Help Feed 200 Families!

  • Carpenter Art Garden 295 Carpenter Street Memphis United States (map)

In preparation for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, eight Binghampton organizations are joining together to collect and distribute holiday meals to more than 200 neighborhood families!

Donations of canned or boxed side items are needed, and the community is being asked to help. Corn, green beans, yams, cranberry sauce, instant mashed potatoes, cornbread mix, gravy mix, pie filling, and cream of mushroom soup, along with macaroni and cheese and desserts are suggested.

Donations may be dropped off by Tuesday, Nov. 18 at the following locations:

  • Carpenter Art Garden – 295 Carpenter Street

  • Collage Dance Center – 505 Tillman Street

  • Binghampton Development Corporation – 280 Tillman Street

  • The Woman’s Exchange of Memphis – 88 Racine

  • Refugee Empowerment Program and CTC – 258 N. Merton

  • Inspire Community Café – 510 Tillman

The donation drive is being coordinated by the staff and board of the Carpenter Art Garden. The participating and supporting organizations include the Binghampton Development Corporation; Lester Prep, Binghampton Christian and Cornerstone Prep Schools; the Center for Transforming Communities; the Binghampton Community Church and the Neighborhood Christian Center.

“Thanks to the generosity of a Memphis anonymous donor, we are able to step up and bless families in our community this Thanksgiving with not only the side items, also with a turkey for their meal. Food is more than sustenance—it’s a lifeline and a vital part of celebrating the holidays. We’re just happy to be able to plant seeds of joy, provision, and connection for our neighbors,” said Ayanna Murray, interim executive director for the Carpenter Art Garden.
